Consultation & Fees

The 30-minute phone consultation — $450 fee
Book a 30-minute phone consultation with Richard Costa Law Firm for a $450 consultation fee. This fee is non-refundable and pays for the attorney's time for the consultation. If the firm accepts your case and proceeds with representation, the fee is credited toward your legal fees. Any initial lawyer fee charged to begin representation is separate, is paid by bank wire, and is held in the firm's client trust account until earned. Payment of the consultation fee does not guarantee that the firm will accept your case or that any particular legal outcome will be achieved.
How it works
1.Email enquiry
You send a short enquiry — name, email, state and general matter. No sensitive details. This is free and does not create an attorney–client relationship.
2.Firm review
We review for fit and run our intake and conflict checks.
3.Consultation invitation
If a consultation is appropriate, we send you an invitation explaining the terms below. The firm must confirm the appointment.
4.Appointment confirmation
We provide or confirm an actual time. Your booking stays pending until the firm approves the time and your fee is verified.
5.Consultation fee
Once approved, you receive payment instructions and a payment reference. Your payment is recorded as pending until the firm verifies receipt.
6.Consultation & decision
We hold the 30-minute phone consultation. The consultation fee is non-refundable. If we take your case, the fee is credited toward your legal fees and any initial lawyer fee is arranged separately by bank wire.
Consultation fee & what it covers
- The consultation fee is $450 for a 30-minute phone consultation, paid before the appointment is confirmed.
- The fee is non-refundable — it pays for the attorney’s time for the consultation.
- If the firm accepts your case and proceeds with representation, the fee is credited toward your legal fees as a separate line item.
- Any initial lawyer fee to begin representation is separate. It is paid by bank wire and is held in the firm’s client trust account until earned.
- Paying the consultation fee does not guarantee that the firm will accept your case or that any particular legal outcome will be achieved.
Payment methods
When the firm invites you to consult, it will provide verified payment instructions and a unique payment reference. Accepted methods for the consultation fee may include Zelle, Chime and Bitcoin (BTC). Payment details are shared only in your invitation, never published on this site. A payment is recorded as received only after the firm verifies it — a screenshot or a statement that funds were sent is not treated as proof of payment.
If the firm accepts your matter and proceeds, the initial lawyer fee and subsequent payments are made by bank wire transfer under the firm’s approved invoicing arrangements and held in the client trust account until earned.
